Another Morning

In this tranquil morning light
I'd love to touch your face.
I long with deep and aching need
To be with you, in place.

To see this soft light touch you,
To feel you as you stir,
Wrapped in reaching, tender arms
Oh if this only were.

But though the ache is bittersweet,
My heartstrings pulled up tight,
Like this sunlight streaming free
Your love, it is my light.
