Cloud Shadows

I
need
to collect my thoughts
scattered
like cumulonimbus across
endless blue,
lazily going nowhere,
shifting contours
moment to moment
casting runaway cloud-shadows
in the spaces
of my mind,
passing over fields and grassy hills
where
giggling children
with dreamy eyes
gaze up
from down below.

Yes...

I
need
to gather my thoughts
spread across mental horizons
like feathered cirrus clouds
across the ocean air,
aimlessly, freely,
converting skylines
dancing
along thermal by-ways
to chase away
each and every care
imbibing
sweet wanna-be-raindrops
drifting up
from down below.

I
need
to collect my thoughts. . .
but just not now.
