Memoirs of the Heart

A light breeze blows
As memories flood my mind
Of a love that once had been.

The sun shines bright;
Translucent dew on the morning grass.
Tomorrow has come again.

A sparrow sings its love sick song.
The trees bow down
To God's elusive wind.

Butterflies dance on the fingertips
Of daisies, the day goes on
And my broken heart mends.

The nearby stream flows
As time crawls past
And the clouds swim in an aqua sky.

An invisible hand leads me on
To help my heart beat still,
At a time I only prayed to die.
