the turquoise lament

you took me down to the sea,
a last supper.
serenghetied eyes,
abalone clips
in your swept back mahogany hair.
Gucci bag,
Prada mules.

you took me down to the hook
teased me, dangled the fly.
silk spaghetti strapped,
Givenchy skirted,
a wet Versace satin cage and lace,
Bizantino thigh high hose

you took me down to the core,
stripped away,
awash in scent,
real, pliant,
resilient
enduring.
...
seasoned...

...inured

you took me down with words.
knight,
savior,
forever,
always.
down ever down
drowning into you.

i sit here today.
survivor,
wiser.
a bit less
numb,

many years now with your passing.
you were a splash of wonder
of color and Paris-light.

you left me only...

with eyes spilling
tears of my deepest regrets.
a turquoise lament,

a designer's dream,
caught in the clots
of a heart too soured.
a Vuitton bag of fear.
